Frequently Asked Questions

How do I download Literacy Works files?
You will need Adobe Reader to open and read the Literacy Works digital files. Most computers already have the Adobe Reader software. If you don’t have Adobe Reader on your computer, visit the Adobe website and download it for free.

After you pay for the resources using Paypal, you will receive an email containing a download link. The download link is easily identified as it contains the name of the book you purchased, underlined with a thick blue line. Click on the link to download the PDF files to your computer. If you can’t find the files, see the FAQ below.

Can I download the files more than once?
No, the link expires once you have successfully downloaded the files once. See below for how to locate files on your computer. If you still can’t find your files, email trish@literacyworks.com.au for another email with the links and try again.

How many PDF files are in a downloaded book?
Each Literacy Works book download is divided into several PDF files, like chapters.

How can I pay?

Troubleshooting – I have paid for the books but I can’t find my email
Many email accounts often have an automatic spam filter that hides emails. Please check your Spam or Junk folder or even the Deleted Items folder as you are likely to find your confirmation emails in one of these folders. If you have checked these folders and it is still missing, please email trish@literacyworks.com.au.

Troubleshooting – I can’t find the files on my computer
The downloads will automatically be saved to your default downloads folder. Here is how to search for files using Windows:

  • right-click the Start button at the bottom left of your screen
  • click on Find or Explore
  • a screen comes up asking you to provide the computer with information about the file
  • type in the name of the file (Literacy Works for Music Book 1)
  • or look for the folder titled “downloads” on the left hand side. Click on this folder and your Literacy Works files should be inside.

Here’s how to search for files on a Mac:

  • click on Finder or press the keys Command-F
  • choose search criteria by entering the file name (e.g. Literacy Works for Music Book 1)
  • look for the folder titled “Downloads”. Click on this folder and your Literacy Works files should be inside.

If you can’t find the file, email trish@literacyworks.com.au for another email with the links and try again.

What if my computer crashes mid-download?
The link should continue to be valid until the document has been fully downloaded. Try the link again or check your downloads folder to see whether you have successfully downloaded all files. If you have problems, email trish@literacyworks.com.au.
